Google has rolled out Veo 3.1, the latest version of its AI-powered video-generation model, adding advanced audio support and new creative controls inside its Flow filmmaking platform.
The update expands Flow’s core tools — “Ingredients to Video,” “Frames to Video,” and “Extend” — with rich, generated sound that enhances realism and narrative depth. Users can now combine multiple reference images, define start-and-end frames, and extend clips seamlessly for longer cinematic sequences.
Veo 3.1 also introduces direct editing options, letting creators insert or remove objects from scenes while maintaining accurate lighting and texture. Google says the upgrade offers stronger prompt adherence and improved audiovisual quality when converting still images into motion.
The Veo 3.1 model is accessible through the Gemini API, Vertex AI for enterprise users, and the Gemini app. The new Flow features are rolling out globally starting this week.
