Xiaomi has unveiled the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, its most advanced flagship yet, at the 2025 Lei Jun Annual Speech in Beijing. The device introduces a dual-screen design, Leica-engineered cameras, and a high-capacity 7500mAh Surge Battery, combining premium craftsmanship with new hardware innovations.
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max features a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with peak brightness reaching 3500 nits and an adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate. On the back, the phone includes a functional 2.9-inch Dynamic Back Display that can show live notifications, music controls, and customizable wallpapers.
The camera setup continues Xiaomi’s collaboration with Leica, featuring a triple-lens system — a 50 MP wide, a 50 MP ultra-wide, and a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens with 5× optical zoom. The new Light Fusion 950L sensor and LOFIC high-dynamic-range technology allow for improved light capture and more natural color output across scenes.
Battery performance is another highlight. The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max integrates a 7500 mAh cell with 100 W wired, 50 W wireless, and 22.5 W reverse-wireless charging. Built on Xiaomi’s latest Surge Battery design, the pack achieves higher density and longer cycle life while maintaining a slim 8 mm chassis.
Running HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, the smartphone includes an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, UWB smart-car key support, and enhanced connectivity across 210 regions worldwide.
In China, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max starts at RMB 5999 (≈ $825 USD) for the 12 GB RAM + 512 GB model and goes up to RMB 6999 for the 16 GB + 1 TB configuration. Sales began September 27 via Mi.com and official retail partners.
